"You have received a Time Gem! Collect them to extend your game after the timer bar empties!"
— In-game description from Bejeweled 3 and Bejeweled Classic
Time Gem is a type of gem that only appears in Lightning mode (known as Speed mode in the HTML version of Bejeweled) of Bejeweled 3, Bejeweled Classic,HTML versions of Bejeweled and Bejeweled Live +. It has three gem types: +5, +10 and +15 in mobile using time extender super boost. These gems add 5, 10 or 15 seconds to the Time Extension tank or additional points when the tank completed filled. When there is only five seconds left in the round, the text on the gems will start flickering. At the end of the round, the +5 time gem becomes a Flame Gem, while a +10 and +15 time gem becomes a Star Gem. If Time Up appears, then the gems will award 5, 10 or 15 times the base value depending on type during the Last Hurrah.
Time Gems appear more frequently in the Nintendo DS version of Bejeweled 3 compared to other versions of the game.[1]
In Bejeweled Classic, white Time Gems bear green +5 or +10 text, while every other color of Time Gems render its text in white, Time Gems number font is different from Bejeweled 3.
