Hullabaloo and howdy doo, everyone! It's time for another well-needed update.
First, I would like to apologize for being absent for a long time once again. The reason why I vanished is the same as before: real-life and personal issues demanded my attention to be focused elsewhere. But now that I've got things under control, I'm ready to return being an active wiki administrator and contributor. I would also like to say very thank you to those who kept the wiki active while I was away. It means a lot to me.
So, what do I have in the pipeline for the Bejeweled Wiki now that I'm back? A lotta buncha things, actually. Here are some of them:
- Clean up – The first thing I'm going to do is get my feather duster and do some
springautumn cleaning. Many pages and images of the Bejeweled Wiki are outdated, so I'll begin cleanup by deleting out-of-date pictures. These include ones of the Rare Gem board patterns, harvest screens, and end-of-game prize icons, and many others as well. But don't worry, I'll replace certain images with new ones and re-upload others under different names and place them in a depository on this wiki.
- Split and merge Rank-related articles – What in the world do I mean by this? Well, there's one large "Rank" article, and I've had thoughts about dividing it into separate pages. You know, like "Rank (Bejeweled Blitz)" and "Rank (Bejeweled Twist). That way we can combine the "List of ... Ranks" pages with their respective "Rank" ones, but leave the "other languages" ones by themselves.
- Create new navboxes – This wiki has navboxes for lots of different things. There's a navbox for the Boosts, one for the mini-quests, another for the Rare Gems, and so on. I've been thinking about removing them in favor of better ones. For example, how about a "Bejeweled Blitz" navbox that includes the Boosts and Rare Gems along with other related things? There's one problem, though: I'm not good at making navboxes. If there's anyone who is good at making navboxes and would like to help me, I'd appreciate it. I can make mockups for new ones if that helps.
- Finish those Mannpower and PASS Time guides – I've been working on these for a while now, and... oh, wait. These are different projects of mine and they have nothing to do with the Bejeweled Wiki. Uh, sorry about that. Let's move on...
- Add Gyromancer-related pages – I know I talked about this before, but we will create articles related to Gyromancer. We haven't yet because it's a low priority. Plus, there are lots of things about Gyromancer, so I'm not sure where we should start. If there's anyone who has also played the game and would like to help get the ball rolling, feel free to do so.
- Begin a "Community Strategy" project – I got the idea for this from visiting other wikis. The goal of this project will be to make pages that contain strategies for game modes, mini-quests, and so on from members of the Bejeweled community. I actually tried something like this a long time ago in which I included "Gameplay tips" sections in several articles. Although I removed those sections (because they seemed unfitting to me), I would like to bring back the concept of them and expand upon it. Let me know what you think about this, and I'll move forward with the project and explain more about it if I get enough positive feedback.
And despite my absence, I haven't neglected the wiki completely. Take a look at these images of things that I've been working on:
Whoops, that last one is of another personal project. Ignore it.
Well, that's all I have for now. Again, I'm sorry for my lack of activity and presence on here. I wish I could spend almost every day tending this wiki, but that doesn't help me pay the rent and keep food in my refrigerator.
Oh, and one more thing: If you're wondering why I changed my FANDOM username from Gemspinner019 to RedThreeBall016, it's because it's also my Xbox gamertag and Steam username, and it's more...universal. It's an odd name, I know, but I've had it since 2011. If you still want to call me Gemspinner019 or even Andrew (my real name), I'm okay with that.
