Mega Fruit Bonus Fruit Dance

The Mega Fruit Bonus is a bonus in Bejeweled Twist that is awarded when a player successfully completes a Mega Fruit Bonus Challenge. It is accomplished matching in a chain the four gems in sequence as shown in the Challenge Box after matching a Fruit Gem.

After making the 4 consecutive matches in order, gameplay will temporarily freeze and the clock stops. A single grape will appear will start dancing. After a few seconds, the lemon and orange appears, followed by the apple and melon. Then they will spell out the word "BONUS" and the fruits will dance on the letters. This is referred to as a Fruit Dance. Points are then distributed through the moves of the Fruits.

When the bonus dance animation completes, it will resume gameplay and a bad gem on the board will turn into a Fruit Gem. If there are no bad gems on the board, a random gem will turn into a Fruit Gem instead. If there are multiple Bomb Gems on the board, the Bomb Gem with the lowest number will turn into a Fruit Gem. If a Bomb Gem's counter is at least 10 or more, or if there are no Bomb Gems at all, a locked gem that is closest to the top left corner will instead turn into a Fruit Gem.

As with all Bonus Challenges, if you do not match in accordance with its sequence or make a matchless move, the Mega Fruit Bonus will not be activated. The Mega Fruit Bonus Challenge, however mandates the player to complete the Challenge immediately after a complete detonation of the Fruit Gem. If the first match post-detonation is not the first match listed, the Mega Fruit Bonus Challenge will be considered failed and will revert to a regular Bonus Challenge. The Mega Fruit Bonus Challenge will also be relinquished if the four matches required are not completed at once; however, matching a separate Fruit Gem will allow the player to continue attempting the Mega Fruit Bonus Challenge until the player fails or completes it.

The Fruit Gem and Mega Fruit Bonuses are only available in Bejeweled Twist.

The Fruit Gem is also used in a Supernova creation technique in Bejeweled that involves using fruit to make gems fall and create one or multiple Supernova Gems.

Trivia[]

  • The fruit dance is the only thing that can stop the timer in Blitz mode. This does not apply to the DS version, because the timer cannot be stopped in that version, even during a fruit dance.
  • If the player fails the Mega Fruit Bonus Challenge by making a matchless move, the regular Bonus will not appear until after the player has made a matching move.
