Kanga Ruby is a standard type of Rare Gem in Bejeweled Blitz. It is a red gemstone that resembles a boxing glove.

Kanga Ruby is unique compared to the other Rare Gems, as there are three versions of it: Kanga Ruby Level 1, Kanga Ruby Level 2, and Kanga Ruby Level 3. Level 1 was introduced on October 25, 2012, while Level 2 and Level 3 were introduced on February 3, 2013.

When the game begins, a special game board that features red gems appears. Each version of Kanga Ruby has its own patterned board; Level 1 features a checkered pattern, while Level 2 and Level 3 feature a "chain reaction" pattern. Displayed beside the board is a championship belt-shaped meter that fills by itself, but clearing red gems fills it faster (clearing other basic gem types yields no effect). When the meter is full, Bruce the kangaroo appears and clear gems by using punches, kicks, and tail whips. The attack that Bruce performs during each "round" is always random but never the same.

What occurs after the Last Hurrah varies among the different versions of Kanga Ruby. With Level 1, Bruce appears and clears many gems by delivering a series of attacks in quick succession; with Level 2, Bruce and his joey appear and clear many gems together by spinning through the game board; and with Level 3, Bruce and his joey appear and attempt to clear gems, but a red Tyrannosaurus scares them away, and then it removes many gems by chomping the middle of the board. With all versions of Kanga Ruby, a coin bonus is also given in which the number of coins awarded equals 100 times the number of red gems cleared during the game.

Only Kanga Ruby Level 1 can be purchased in the same manner as other Rare Gems. Level 2 and Level 3 can be acquired only by sharing Kanga Ruby with friends on Facebook, but Kanga Ruby Level 2 can also be obtained when it is featured in Party mode. It is possible to get Kanga Ruby Level 3 free via the official Bejeweled YouTube channel if a player's Facebook account is open, but it can be used only once.

Trivia
