Bejeweled Wiki

This page contains the policies and guidelines by which users of the Bejeweled Wiki are expected to abide.

The Bejeweled Wiki generally follows the Fandom Community Guidelines and takes Fandom's Terms of Use into consideration. These are very broad guidelines, and include:

  • Practice open-mindedness and assume good faith.
  • Be nice to others.
  • If you need help, just ask! (Our admins will be happy to help you.)
  • Don't feed the trolls. (Like really, don't fall for them.)
  • Don't bite the newcomers.
  • No personal attacks. No accusations, insults or threats. When you disagree, always comment on the edits, not the user.
  • Don't use profanity. Censoring vulgar words is not acceptable on the wiki either.
  • Have fun!

In addition to these, the Bejeweled Wiki has established some specific guidelines, which are set out below:

Blocking Policy

Users can be blocked or banned for breaking the rules.

The blocking system goes as follows:

  • 1st violation: Heads up (!)
  • 2nd violation: Strike 1
  • 3rd violation: Strike 2 (Final Warning) (!)
  • 4th violation: Final Strike, temporary 7 day block
  • 5th violation: 5-12 month ban (!)
  • final violation: permanent ban

Users that have made at least 10 edits and have been on the wiki for at least 3 weeks without violating the wiki policy will be granted extra chances (marked by the (!)) before receiving the more severe punishments.

The length of the ban/block can also depend on the severity of the offense. Appeals can be posted on your talk page (or if you lost talk page access, the blocking admin's Community Central page). Blocks under 7 days cannot be appealed, unless there was an error from the administrator. Receiving a permanent ban prevents you from appealing (in most cases) and editing your user pages.

Removing an admin message from your message wall will earn you a more severe warning.

Alternate Accounts

If you have have been blocked/banned from editing, do not make multiple new accounts to evade your punishment. This is called sockpuppetting. Having multiple accounts to contribute is okay, but using them to evade your punishment is not. If found guilty of sockpuppeting, your sockpuppet accounts will be permanently banned, and you will face additional punishment, even up to an indefinite ban on your main account if you keep doing it. Instead, list why we should give you back your editing privileges on your talk page.

Also, using multiple accounts to support yourself in a discussion vote is also sockpuppetting. Your alternate accounts will be permanently banned if caught and you will be warned on your main account to cease this behavior. Continuing to do so will result in further punishment.

User Guidelines

Vandalism is not allowed on the wiki. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • inserting false/unsourced and fan- information on pages
  • bullying other users
  • making racist or sexist comments on talk pages and forums
  • removing constructive content without warning
  • editing other people's user pages without their approval
  • spamming the same thing over and over again or unauthorized advertising (Advertising is to only be done at your userpage, not the blogs or the forums, and users must be active contributors to the wiki. Otherwise, you may be blocked indefinitely as an "advertising account".)

Vandalism may be subject to more severe warnings.

Privacy Policy

Users assume all risk when giving personal information out. If a user refuses to share, do not bug other people for their personal information. This will result in an immediate block without warning.

Discussion Guidelines

The Discussions area of the wiki has it's own set of guidelines, that can be read here:

Content Guidelines

The following content should not be posted/uploaded on the wiki:

  • Pirate Links: Links that contain unofficial/pirate downloads of Bejeweled games that are currently being sold in stores should not be uploaded (ex. the Windows/Mac versions of the Bejeweled series games, Bejeweled Blitz LIVE, etc.) to prevent legal conflict between Fandom, PopCap Games and Electronic Arts. Versions of Bejeweled games that have been discontinued and are not being sold in stores anymore (such as Bejeweled 2 for iOS/Android, the Astraware versions of Bejeweled, etc.) are allowed but require approval of an admin before adding. If you want to upload a link, ask an admin/mod before adding a link.
  • Uploading of suggestive and NSFW (Not Safe For Work) content: The following content (such as nudity, fetish content, sexual messages and related) is strictly prohibited and will most likely result in an block without warning, between a week and indefinite. Repeatedly posting suggestive and NSFW content will lead to a permanent block.
  • Profanity: As the Bejeweled series' main audience is for all ages alike, we ask you to refrain from using vulgar words, including Discussion threads and in Message Walls.
  • Off-topic content: Please refrain from excessive non-Bejeweled related discussion. Do not upload non-Bejeweled related images and videos to the wiki unless in context within the material, or is to be used within your userpage.

Images and Videos

Make sure images you upload (specifically, screenshots and promotional renders) are of good quality.

Fanmade Content Policy

Fan content is allowed on the wiki, but can only be uploaded on the wiki through separate articles. Any articles that are dedicated to the documentation of fan games must have the Fan Content template/disclaimer on its article (shown below).

There's fan stuff here!
This article contains information originating from fan games, and have no association with PopCap Games or Electronic Arts. If you're looking for official content, you're on the wrong page. You might want to check out this list of official content instead.

Fan-made content/information should not be added onto any official series game pages. For a list of areas where it's OK to enter fanmade content, check this list.

To add the fan content disclaimer, add {{Fan Content}} to the top of an article.

If you upload fanmade images to the wiki's image log, only use it on your user page. Adding any fanmade content to official series pages will result in a warning.

Editing Guidelines

The creation of new articles is always welcome; but we highly discourage the creation of "Blank Pages"- articles with no content. If you are going to create a new article, please throw in a few sentences and maybe even a template so it has some content. If you need examples on what a page should look like:

It is highly recommended for editors to source their content before adding information. Adding specific content without sources is allowed, but if the information cannot be verified by others, it will be removed. Any questionable information must have a reliable or official source. Sites like Wikipedia are not reliable or official sources, but rather External Links, which can be placed on the "External Links" header in articles. Official sources usually include sources like VentureBeat and Reliable sources include video game media websites, social media or somebody who works on the show (preferably someone verified). Users who continue to add unsourced information or information not according to reputable or official sources may be subject to a block for vandalism.

Edit warring

Edit warring is defined as making three or more reverts on one page within a 24 hour period. Unless it is to remove vandalism, a temporary lock will be placed on the article and both parties may be subject to a 24 hour block. Please discuss any concerns on that article's talk page. Remember to be civil and respectful.

User pages

Your user page is a place to put information about yourself. Tell us about yourself! We'd love to hear more about you!

You may not edit someone else's userpage without approval unless it is to fix coding or remove vandalism or inappropriate content. You may not only contribute to your userpage. We are an encyclopedia first, so only editing the userpage will result in loss of access to it. You may not upload fan work unless you created it or you get approval from the creator (proof may be required).

Administrators and Wiki Staff

The Bejeweled Wiki database has Wiki Staff to keep order and make sure that users are following the rules.

Users may contact any of the staff if they have questions regarding anything about the wiki or to report suspicious wiki activity. These users will be the first to use their powers to do whatever they need to stop the wrongdoing. Should no staff be active, then contact Fandom staff as soon as possible.

Wiki staff are supposed to be friendly and always willing to help (in most cases).

Would you like to be an Staff member? Just ask an admin and they will see if you are qualified to be one.
