Hullabaloo and howdy doo, everyone! I wanted to remind you all that I'm going to take a vacation from the wiki soon. How long am I going to be gone for? I'm thinking about a month, but no longer than that. I know I'm still working on the Rare Gem articles (and other things)... and although I've updated several of those pages, I decided to go back and tweak a few things. The project is taking longer than I expected because I keep putting it aside to focus on other things (like real-life issues and other projects). I'm hoping to finish the project by the end of the year.

Even though progress on the Rare Gem articles has dwindled, one of my priorities is to get the "Coin bonus" paragraph that's in pages like Big Apple and Rock-It Blast rewritten to my liking. To be honest, I'm actually somewhat struggling to complete it. Here's what the paragraph looks like now (the example is from ChimeStone's page)...

After the Last Hurrah (or Encore if the player accepted Feathered Fury's offer), a Coin bonus will occur in which nine present icons appear in a 3×3 arrangement. When the player selects an icon, it will reveal a Coin present that will then be added to the player's Coin balance. The other icons will unveil, but not award, their prizes as well. The Coin payouts the bonus offers are 1,000, 5,000, 10,000, 15,000, 25,000, 35,000, 50,000, 100,000, and 500,000.

It's not bad, but I'm not happy with it. Here's what the paragraph looks like as of now (just a heads-up: it's incomplete)...

After the Last Hurrah (or Encore if the player accepted Feathered Fury's offer), nine present icons will appear in a 3×3 arrangement. Each icon has ... . When the player selects an icon, it will flip over and ... a Coin bonus that will then be added to the player's Coin balance. The other icons will unveil, but not give, their prizes as well. The Coin payouts the icons offer are 1,000, 5,000, 10,000, 15,000, 25,000, 35,000, 50,000, 100,000, and 500,000.

Although the revised version is not done yet, you can somewhat see where I'm going with it. So, why am I redoing this paragraph? It's because—based on research—the end-of-game events are not referred to as Coin bonuses from "official" sources; it's something the fans came up with. Coin bonuses are usually what the rewards are called. They also go by presents and prizes, but I prefer bonuses. However, referring both the end-of-game events and Coin rewards as bonuses seems...weird to me. I tried to overcome this by addressing the rewards as presents, but since I used "present icons" in an earlier sentence, that lead to me wanting to rewrite the paragraph (once again).

Of course, there's more to the whole project than revising that one paragraph; there's also a bunch of other things. In fact, here's a list of them (careful, it's lengthy!)...

I can take care of screenshot-related things. But if anyone can help me with things like determining patterns and end-of-game Coin payouts, I'd appreciate that very much.

So, what's my next major project after finishing all the Rare Gem articles? To tell you the truth, I'm not quite sure. I was thinking about making pages about the levels and islands of Bejeweled Stars, but I have some other ideas in the pipeline.

Well, that's all I have for now. By the way, please don't think I'm going to completely ignore the wiki while I'm away; I'll still visit and check in on things every now and then.
